Some people have asked if they can donate online. Please see the treasurer for the banking details. Last year the Parish forwarded $308 to BCA and $338 to BMF ( + another $180 to be sent).

This Lent, ABM AID is supporting Anglican church partners around the world who are actively working to combat gender-based violence and promote women’s empowerment through education, community leadership and sustainable livelihoods.
For example, the Anglican Church in Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea empowers women through literacy programs that equip them with essential skills for economic participation and leadership.

The angel’s message to the shepherds on that first Christmas Eve was one of peace, reconciliation and hope. Two of ABM AID’s partners, the Diocese of Colombo in Sri Lanka and Gawura in Sydney, are working towards that same peace, reconciliation and hope by providing education to disadvantaged children in Sri Lanka and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in Sydney.
Many children have been impoverished by the economic crisis that has plagued Sri Lanka in recent years. The Diocese of Colombo, through centres including the Oppuravillam Peace Centre, offers hope for a better future to such children through classes in IT, extra coaching towards their national exams, awareness sessions for teenagers in child and drug abuse and the wise use of social media and mobile phones, as well as nutritional supplements for pre-schoolers.
Here is Australia, accessing the strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture is seen as key to the success of Gawura which provides a primary school education to up to 42 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in Sydney.
You can give using the Gift envelopes at the back of the church or by direct debit ( details on the envelope). The appeal is tax -deductible.

This weekend we are doing two things. We celebrate All Saints, remembering that
Jesus has conquered death and made us all Saints. We are holy because we belong
to Him. We remember those who have gone before us into his nearer presence.
We also start our Stewardship theme Ready To Grow. We know as people of God
that we are called. We are willing to be called to stronger faith, more service, and
determined generosity. Growth is sometimes about numbers, sometimes it’s not.
Growth is always about love for God and neighbour.
And that is what Saints do…
