Hi Folks

Hi folks,

This weekend we celebrate Christ the King, a summary of what we have learned about Jesus from another liturgical year of reading the bible, Christian community and service. The Gospel reading is part of Jesus’ trial before Pilate (John 18:33-37). Jesus kind - of acknowledges that he is a King, but he wants to redefine the concept of King. The passion does that, Jesus’ kingship is shown in his crucifixion. A lot of people are exposed as evil, Jesus shines as the love of God. The Revelation reading gives a Christian worship perspective on Jesus (Rev 1:4a- 8). God is eternal and engaged with the world. So is Jesus. Our response is priestly worship of Jesus. I am looking forward to Archbishop Jeremy coming to St Mark’s to lead worship on Sunday. I am sure we are in for a ‘cracker’ of a sermon on Christ the King.

Peace etc,

Geoff
