Hi folks

Hi folks,

This weekend we are still in the Season of Christmas and the Gospel reading gives us a clue about what differences Christmas has made to reality (John 1:10-18). God’s Son has come into this world and we are adopted as sons and daughters of God.

We believe that God made and loves everything. God’s love holds everything together. God’s morals are the true way to live. The world is a bit broken, but God will fix it. God has begun to fix it by coming to live inside the world God made. That’s who Jesus is.

So, Jesus loved people in their brokenness and sin. Healed the brokenness, forgave the sin and made people into new people. This turns out to be God’s plan, to love people through Jesus.

God had more to do after the stable. God still has more to do now. And we have a part in that.

The difference Christmas made 2,028 years ago is that God is now loving the world from the inside and we are daughters and sons of God.

Hi folks

Hi folks,

Merry Christmas to all, Many of us look forward to this time of year. We look forward to time with family, eating together, presents and relaxing. The media tells us what a happy time it is. But it’s not like that for some people…

Christmas is when we remember Jesus’ birth. The eternal God left heaven and came to live an ordinary life, starting in a shed. The Angels sang that God had brought peace to the earth. The shepherds came to see their new King. And when Jesus grew up, he brought good news to the poor and to sinners. Not all of this world looks like God’s good news has come. Some people do not live in peace and safety…

This Christmas I hope you are able to enjoy your family and remember to celebrate Jesus. Remember also that he came for the others, for people who are lonely or under attack.

Be their good news, Geoff
